Thoubal Irrigation Dam Project

Thoubal Irrigation Dam Project is located on Thoubal River in Phayang/Maphou village, 35 km from Imphal City Manipur. The objective of the project is the construction of an earthen dam to provide benefits by creating irrigation potential for 10 MGD of drinking water supply to the city of Imphal, with a command area of 21862 hectares (CCA) and an annual irrigated area of 33449 hectares (AIA) with incidental power generation of 7.50 MW.

The length of this earthen dam is 1074 meters and the maximum height is 66 meters. There are two irrigation canals on either side of the barrage to irrigate 21862 hectares. of cultivable land.

Encardio-rite was awarded the sub-contract for supply as well as installation of safety monitoring instrumentation for the project. The instrumentation mainly included Inclinometers and Strong Motion Accelerograph.
